Here I was getting crucified on here for suggesting we don't throw a bag of money at an often injured player.

Anyway, Salyer and Becton on the right side seems good to me.
Another year of both Bozeman and Pipkins getting significant playing time is just...underwhelming.

Telesco`s only clearly decent draft pick on the Oline .... and now, even the Slater pick is losing its luster.

              He sucked hard!

Visions of the Ryan Leaf signing bonus of 17 million $ and the return on our investment. Not comparing Slater to Leaf but am comparing throwing ridiculous amounts of money to humans who are not cyborgs. People break. No player is worth these kinds of dollars. Of course if you dont pay some other fool will so we all suffer and fork out $$ to see our team compete. We need a trade and we need to make a worthwhile offer. I suggest Q be offered and some other garnishment.
we are adequate with WRs but suspect on OL and time is getting short. Pull a trigger and repair the wall! Herbert can make average receivers look good behind a solid wall.

Don't think so. Neither James nor Keenan were on big money guaranteed contracts when they missed time. And the time they missed was in the beginning of their careers. Not year 5.

Keenan had just signed a contract extension in the summer of 2016, about a week before his second season-ending injury, which occurred in Week 1 against the Chiefs.

Not sure what that has to do with the chances of Slater returning from injury just as good as he was before. The point is Derwin James and Keenan Allen both did it.

Slater will have missed more time than either Keenan or Derwin in their first 5 years. Slater just signed the highest OL contract in league history with the most guaranteed money. It's more reminiscent of Bosa than James or Keenan. He may or may not come back. Who knows. Different injury. The trend isn't good for him and lots of money is committed to him that hurts the team's chances of adding impact players. Whatever. It's a bad day for the Chargers. A bad day for Slater
