The only thing I think of is they throw their own scores out the window when they do the rankings because they know they are garbage. The tape and numbers don't lie.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

Couldn’t agree more! Resign Oweh, draft Jacas and sign Ojabo unless they think Kennard is ready for a bigger role. If he comes in and has similar jump that Eboigbe did, he would be just fine as the 4th edge. I think Ojabo on a 1 year prove it deal I think would be ideal. 5 deep at edge is what they did last year.Originally posted by Boltnut View Post
Maybe he is... maybe he's not @#22. He may not fit every defense... but he certainly fits our defense.
Most importantly, he does a lot of the same things that Khalil Mack does... strong v the run... sets a strong edge... overpowers OT's with a bull-rush. Jacas, Parker, and Mesidor are all very good in this regard. I love Khalil... but he's getting older and we need to get younger/cheaper there... especially if we want to re-sign Oweh (which I hope we do).
Having 3 good edge players is essential IMO. Rotate them to keep them fresh. Have depth in case of injury.
I think resigning Oweh to a 3 year deal would be perfect. His first year is Tuli’s last year of the contract. So when you resign Tuli, his 1st year of the contract won’t be bad against the cap. It would only be the 3rd year of Oweh’s contract and 2nd year of Tuli’s contract where they are both pretty good size contracts at that point. The salary cap will have also gone up.

Small school competition I'm sure plays a part. Maybe they add in that he comes into the league age 26 vs typical 22? I don't know if they factor that at all, I can't tell that they do but teams might consider it.Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
Agree but it makes me wonder how this is possible and how they do it. I get Tucker played against less compitiotion but how can a player be ranked 23rd yet be the 125th best Edge in the draft?.....and Vice versa lol. Tucker 7th best Edge, ranked 158. I mean they ranked them.
Id be fasinated to watch their process.
I love to agree with Riverwalk and think an elite defensive player first makes good good sense. Khalil's $14M (est.) would let Joe compete at the top of the IOL FA pool, for one example. I also don't see either of our top DTs as dominating destroyers - an elite DT that commands the middle of the OL makes everyone around him better - both to the side and behind.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

While Jeremiah is a former NFL scout, with more credentials than most analysts, keep in mind that he had Shedeur ranked 19th on his final top 50 right before the draft last year. He's had other rankings that have been way off in the past.Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
Jeremiah has his initial top 50 out and Jacas isnt on it. TJ Parker he has at 38. Mesidor @ 18.
This of course will change but not being in the top 50, im not sure he can work his way to a first rounder but ya never know. I prefer we trade down anyways,....and of course that depends on who is on the board at 22 but ive also seen one site report there are only 17 worthy first rounders. Its still early yet.
Also to note, Denzel Boston is NOT the Son of David Boston as ive seen mentioned here before, so now we can feel better about him

I'm not advocating for Gabe Jacas or T.J. Parker. Just saying Jeremiah's rankings aren't always reliable.

Well, there are 32 teams in the league, and would say all 32 teams probably have 32 different rankings. The top 10 might be similar but I even doubt the top 10 are the same. Jeremiahs isn't the end all be all but out of all the rankings his probably the best one to use given his credentials.Originally posted by DerwinBosa View Post

As everyone knows who followed the Chargers back then, Merriman said Jamal Williams was the most impactful player on defense. He was the central anchor who could take on multiple blockers and allow outside linebackers like Shawne to thrive.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

Jamal was 6’3” 348lbs. A very rare specimen.

That was the era when Qualcomm (formerly Murphy, etc) would greet opponents with a thunderous "YOU CAN'T RUN!". The only time I ever recall that. (it did take him awhile to become that monster though)Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post

Does anyone like Cashius Howell with pick 22? That would give us a rotation of Tuli, Oweh (with Mack's money) and Cashius Howell? This guy is a relentless pass rusher! The only thing is the 6'2 255 build? Will he be able to bring it like he does in college with his stature at the pro level?Originally posted by Boltinloudguy View Post

I am no expert, but I sense the Charges like a heavier, bigger more bullish EDGE guy.Originally posted by electricgold View Post

Mack, Dupree, Oweh are all 6’3” or 6’4” 265-270.

His only downfall from what I hear is really short arms. Could be a problem at the next level.Originally posted by electricgold View Post
