Just finished watching recorded combine, and checking other event results online...apologize if I make observations already discussed...

Lee Hunter runs a horrible 40, lol...but when you watch the drills, you see the footwork, body control, and lateral agility in the big man. I like his attitude. First round cluster, for sure.

Malachi Lawrence may not survive as a third round pick in my signature mock...tested too well, and looked really good in drills...might climb up into the second...top 75 at least, imo...

My boy Golday looked pretty solid at 240 with his numbers...if you pretend the two Ohio St. freaks weren't there, lol...they made everyone look ordinary...but Golday did have an all around good combine.

I heard all year about how good a football player Jacob Rodriguez was, even though he wasn't the best athlete...well...ol' Jacob put THAT shit to rest...excellant test numbers to go with his college production. And he looked good in drills.

I really liked the way Zane Durant moves...is there a need/use for that type of player on our dline? Enough to spend a day 2 pick? I dunno...but I like him.

Reese, Styles, Allen, Golday, Rodriguez...is it just me, or is this the strongest LB class we have had in awhile?

It sure does feel like Nadame Tucker will be on this team soon.
          1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
          2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
          3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
          4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Zane Durant, 3T, Penn State (6-foot-1, 290)

Durant may have had the best performance during on-field drills amongst the interior defensive linemen. He ran an impressive 1.66 10-yard, 4.75 40-split and carried over his quick feet into drills. He’s a smooth athlete, with power in his strike and the ability to get low in his bend, while flattening out after the rip. He has choppy feet that continually move, producing solid explosion and the ability to fluidly connect a combination of pass-rushing moves. My main question with Durant and the Lions is: Is he too redundant with Mekhi Wingo, or can he expand his game?

LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

Hortiz could surprise with a day 1 or 2 pick that we aren't expecting.

Rnd 1 Florida DT Caleb Banks - his physical measurements are off the charts, projected to go 27-29.

Rnd 2-3 Edge Malachi Lawrence, UCF; Dani Dennis-Sutton, Penn State. Both have size 6-5ish, 250+ lbs, and speed. Will depend on the status of Oweh and/or Mack.

                    Under-sized, wouldn't be a 3-down player?

Could now be top 5 pick. I could see Harbaugh and Giants. Ravens have always loved a stud LB to set the tone for defense

                      Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State

The talk exiting Day 1 was Styles' performance. The towering middle linebacker prospect (6-foot-5, 244 pounds) jumped an impressive 43 ½ inches in the vertical, the best leap for a player at that position dating to 2003, per ESPN Research. He also jumped 11-foot-2 in the broad jump and ran a 4.46 40. Styles was expected to have outlandish testing numbers, yet he surpassed everyone's expectations. Labeled as a top-10 pick entering the combine, I'm not so sure he makes it out of the top 5 now. His combination of size, instincts, and range makes him one of the best middle linebacker prospects in recent memory, as he could be the first top-5 pick at the position since Devin White in 2019. -- Reid

if we drafted him, guessing that would leave Hand off the roster.... ??

I see him as a DE, but who knows.
