If you want to protect Herbert's blind side, you got it !
But the right side seems not safe to me.
Nah... After we drafted Freeling, Id follow it up with Keylon Rutledge...

Alt, Slater, Biadasz, Rutledge, Freeling That could be a solid Oline.

This still feels like DT pick in the 1st. Looks like I am circling back to McDonald.

I don't know why people are still stuck on an OG in the 1st rnd. The Chargers have proven that they don't have a high value on the OG position and it's not a high priority. If it were, they would have spent the money on one when they had 100m in cap space. I don't see why that is so hard to understand.
      1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
      2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
      3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
      4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

I have finally realized the same thing. Ioane could change their minds if he was there though but I think they prefer to use first on more premium positions...edge. WR, CB,

I just cant get into McDonald, really uninspiring to me to use our first on a run stuffer over edge...or at least a DT that can rush the pocket from inside. I mean I know he is a good player but not a very exciting pick and I think we need a 3rd edge rusher more, the defense got a lot better when they had a 3rd rusher and Mack is 35

McDaniel doesn't value Gs, but I assume that both Harbaugh and Hortiz still do. All 3 of their jobs will be riding on offensive improvement and Herbert's survival. So can JH2 just override McDaniel, and do they even want to?

Lomu > Proctor....Lomu is Joe Alt lite....I would take another quality Tackle in this draft if they're still on the board before even a guard unless someone stellar slips to us at #22.

It’s not like they spend a ton on DTs either … they seem fine with plug n play journeymen …

They seem to value Edge and CB the most on defense. Both are also high value / cost FA positions. Just guessing like everyone else, of course …

The draft is typically a group decision...the Bolts have their big board, and McD has had a ton of input on O big board players even before the draft...now, when they get on the clock for #22, if McD is banging the table for a particular player, and it's close between the O player McD wants and a D player, I'm guessing they go with the O player...
