He has not played much but we need a good number 2. I like what I have seen so far. I predict he could be the starter at some point. This will be a running and defensive team. He fits the mold. Still need to see more variety of his passes and touch on the ball.

Two ways Hortiz may be thinking.

First is that all it takes is one play (remember Slater) and your #1 could be down for weeks of the season OR out for the year (God forbid). He could trot Lance out there and possibly look like a genius. I mean Lance or Heinicke, who would you feel better about, trotting out there for a few weeks?

Second, Hortiz takes a call from the first team to lose it's starter, this always happens somewhere either pre-season or the first couple of weeks.......And BOOM Trey becomes a second round pick.......something we all wouldn't mind having come next April.....
