I realize the superbowl championship Eagles are probably the best team in football, but they laid the blue print for how anyone should play vs KC and they physically man-handled KC while still taking killshots downfield.
no let-up, full assault. That's what we should and can emulate.

A rebuilt OL that will be allowed to hold and false start with impunity. On any other team, that OL would suck. On the Chiefs, they'll be formidable.

        Charger’s game plan
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
        Let’s win one for Mack.

We have a big, physical run blocking OL and a big, physical new top talent at RB. Go out there and push KC’s asses down the field. Make them want to quit. Keep Mahomies on the bench. That’s the path to winning. Not trying to keep up with Reid’s outstanding passing game.
KC was 14th best passing offense in '24, their strength was their #4 scoring defense. I'd like to see us make drives and score and expect a mix of R/ P
against their #19 pass D in 2024. Their run D was #9. We gotta throw and need to take advantage of our receiving group. It's up to Jim and G Ro to play complementary ball where R sets up the pass and vice versa. KC is fucked if they can't get to Herbert faster than he can throw. Pass D is their achilles heel.

I haven't watched all KC losses but in the SB the Eagles dominated the LOS, established the run, and fed off play action deep passes.

If I was a worry wort on Chief's planet, these would be my concerns on defense:

                  1. Chris Jones starting the downhill slide? His sacks total has declined by 5 the last few years: 15, 10 , 5.
He's 31 and DTs generally decline rapidly by this age ... having played in a ton of post season games, that can't help.

                  2. Chiefs best group is their inside linebackers: two of them are liabilities in pass coverage (Bolton & Chenal).
Chargers are much better positioned to exploit them at tight end and running back this year.

                  3. Chiefs have added two new starting defensive backs, in a group known for their cohesion under Spagnuolo.
Chargers know quite a bit about Fulton's play, and his injury history and his tail-off the 2nd half of last year is of concern.
This group is a far cry from: Reid, Cook, McDuffie and Sneed from 2023.

                  4. With age and losses, who will step up and improve? Karlaftis? I doubt it. The rookies they brought in?
Most probably, this defense will take a few steps down from where they were.

In my mind, the Chiefs needed to reinvent themselves; they currently seem to be trying to squeeze one more championship out of an aging core.
With their thorough ass kicking from the Super Bowl, and the sum total of their season last year, that never ends up well.

I've been wrong before about these fuckers .... but this can't work.

They need to be injury free this year, and Kelce/Jones need to be dominant still at their age.

                      That's pretty normal.

Last year, the Chiefs had abnormally good luck. Does it continue this year? Generally, luck is a one year thing.

                          Clyde Edwards-Helaire back to KC
thought he would be a solid 3rd down back to poach after getting cut yesterday.
