According to the “Chargers Weekly Podcast,” the team ran 143 plays last season with at least seven players weighing 285 pounds or more. That led the league by a mile; Baltimore ranked second with just 28.

I expect that early and often in this game. I expect that on the first play. Does KC have the beef to stop that play after play? Does KC have the beef to stop that in the 4th Q? I think not.

Omarion, 20 carries for 100 yards? Probably not, but 80 yards is feasible.

We’re going primeval in this game.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    Let’s win one for Mack.

In the SB Spags prioritized taking out RB Barkley, did so and got creamed elsewhere. I expect once burnt, twice shy. They'll try to dictate to us what they would prefer to defend. Start with heavy pass rush and see how we play against.

despite the O-line not getting revamped from 2024, I would argue that the Charger offense has improved a lot more than the Chief defense has, Spagnuolo can be aware all he wants, he still hasn't seen it play out on the field anymore than the Chargers have, so he still doesn't fully know what he's going to have to deal with, Steve does have the advantage that defenses are often better prepared to start the season strong than offenses most of the time it takes offenses a few weeks to get up to speed...

          Should be interesting. Duh!
We know that there is absolutely no doubt that Harbaugh would dearly LOVE to make a statement W in game 1 vs KC in Brazil.
Toward that end he has been planning since the schedule came out. KC has no film of the 2025 Chargers Offense and we have a pretty good idea what their team is, Load 'em up and get it on.
          Go Bolts!

If Hampton has 20 or more carries, he very likely could have over 100 yards, because of his home run speed..... he may have alot of runs for short gains but if he gets a hole, or breaks a tackle he can go for a big gainer or all the way for a TD!..... he is also an explosive threat on screens and shuffle passes.......

if chiefs are really able to stuff the run, hampton may not get 20 carries, they are probably loading the box, and we may need to and be able to beat them through the air....

We disagree. Until proven otherwise we have to show that we can win games with the pass. That certainly was not the case last year. We were not a prolific
passing team. Herbert had 2 games where he passed over 300 yards and we lost one of those games because our run game failed and we were forced to attempt
              many passes.

The priority for the Chiefs is to stack the LOS and stop the run. If successful they will come after Herbert with blitzes on passing plays. This is the way
they have beaten our offense and until proven otherwise Spangnuolo will continue with this strategy.

With that said it's a new year and we have new moving parts. So we'll have to see what gives this year. Injuries have always hurt is badly
in the last few years. This year is no exception. Our Pro-Bowl LT is out for the year. Our RB situation looks shaky if Harris can't go and
QJ had a concussion in pre-season. Not sure he will play. Becton has also been battling an old injury. So it's not exactly a clean start to the year.

One of the things I like about Hampton is his contact balance... he breaks a lot of tackles and has good yards-after-contact stats.
Having him (over last year's RBs) will make the Chiefs have to tackle better. He'll likely get to the 2nd level on some plays.
I'll take Hampton vs CB's and safeties 1v1 most of the time. Make those DB's tackle. It may take a toll by the 4th quarter.

If the Chiefs sell-out to stop the run... most likely brings LB's and safeties up. Probably creates space in the middle where Ladd an KA are so good. Add in contributions from Gadsden and Conklin (Stone Smartt had decent game v the Chiefs)... and we have a lot more options in the passing game than last year. Ladd didn't even play v the Chiefs the 2nd time we played them.

Excellent! KC's pass D was a weakness last year. They'll have to be a lot better to deal with the current Chargers offense.

The financial statements about Swift and/or Giselle are factually correct... and much less weird than nearly every post on the "Belichick" thread (may it rest in peace).

Weird is not only OK... Nutty prefers that.
The Belicheck thread is as weird as it gets. I will not go there anymore... but it appears to be politics-free.
