I worry about a player who missed all of camp playing before he is in football shape and bulling a fricking groin the first time he makes a major cut?Originally posted by jamrock View Post
Yep QJ cleared concussion protocol.
Najee Harris cleared for contact.
2025 season is finally upon us

Chiefs report...this guy is pretty thorough and knows the team well. Concerns are at WR with Rice suspended, their 4th rnd rookie trending not to play, and Marquise Brown, an injury prone player, dealing with injuries all summer. Also at defensive tackle, Chiefs fans still in shock Mike Pennel being cut and subsequently signing with the Bengals PS not the Chiefs PS. Also OL, with a rookie LT in Josh Simmons, their 1st rnd pick, and a 2nd year player at LG. RT Jawaan Taylor apparently has to have his knee drained before every game.
Nobody saw THIS coming for the Chiefs and it's unfortunate...

Lamenting Greg Roman is a pastime. Even the 49ers fandom wanted him replaced after their Superbowl run in 2012, but Jim was just too loyal to keep him on. Unless Justin can throw for 4500 yards, and Hampton can get 1500 yards of rushing production, I can't see Roman ever evolving. At least the defense has the potential to recreate that Harbaugh 49er magic. We just need to develop one more EDGE player, and hope that Wax can become what Colson was envisioned to be. Arguably, our secondary is better than what Jim's 49ers had.Originally posted by BayAreaBoltz View Post
Huh?
At any rate, my satisfaction will come when either Greg Roman becomes a better OC (his passing "schemes" still have too many receivers running to the same part of the field at the same time) or he decides to resign again. I don't believe he's got what it takes anymore and I'm sad he's friend's with Jim. Love is, indeed, blind.

Sounds like KLS will be inactive. Tre Harris should be available but not sure how many snaps he'll get due to Allen and QJ being healthy.Originally posted by jaguarmanftype View Post
Well, there goes my hope that Harris or KLS start over QJ, at least for this game.
Unless there is an injury I don't think we'll see much of KLS this year. We gotta make sure QJ and Tre Harris are the real deal.

That's a shame. KLS has shown more in camp and in preseason to make me think he may be better than QJ or Harris as a potential X. We shall see how Tre's route running and ability to create separation have developed. I believe KLS is already ahead of him in those facets. He's definitely ahead of QJ to my eyes even if the coaching staff doesn't seem to think so.Originally posted by charger1_sj View Post

We'll see if the Tre and Herbert connection is genuine based on what we heard in camp. With KLS, we've actually seen the connection between Herbert and he in a preseason game right after QJ went out, aside from the camp reports. This will likely be like the McConkey situation where they ease Tre and KLS into the game plan, event though most of us were screaming that McConkey was wide open and not targeted nearly enough as early as Week 1 of last year's season.Originally posted by jamrock View Post

You can be sad all you'd like... it won't change the fact that Harbaugh believes in him. It also won't change the fact that his teams have won twice as many games as they've lost when he's been the OC. Not very many OC's have that kind of a winning percentage. I can guarantee you he doesn't design plays that "have too many receivers running to the same part of the field".Originally posted by BayAreaBoltz View Post

I suspect that everyone that bemoans him are indeed just unhappy about a balanced offensive philosophy in general. But that's what will beat the Chiefs... and eventually propel us to our first and only Lombardy trophy. Now, if you want to copy the Chiefs... you will always be Chiefs Light.Protect the QB
