I have not checked the stats, but my guess is that the defense consistently gave the offense good starting field position. Special teams has something to do with this as well.

I did check the stats on takeaways, the Chargers were 13th in 2024 with 21, not elite but respectable.

I mentioned in another post, how much of that total scoring was FGs and takeaway return TDs by D?
We were strong at takeaway differential. I think #4.
Red zone 56% ain't too shabby but as you say, not the whole story.

I found the defense scored 2 TDs last year. I expected it was more.

Our +takeaway stat was because we gave the ball away so few times, more than because we took it away so much. net-net that's great, it just doesn't directly answer this topic, i think?

I'll give a little more perspective. We were 3rd best at not allowing 1st downs on passing plays. We were 11th best at not allowing a first down on running plays.
We were 11th on total offensive plays allowed.

Every team that has ever won in Brazil has gone on to win the Super Bowl that year.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
            Let’s win one for Mack.

              • Our RB group was not good...except for Dobbins... this year we have much better stronger, faster RB's wheo can run block and catch....
              • we had no dependable receivers or TE's last year who could get op[en quickly and catch!???.... forcing Herbert to hold ball longer and our OL had to block longer...
              • This year, the OL will not have to block as long.... we have multiple receivers and TE's who can get open quickly and actually catch the ball....that will help out the OL and herbert
              • And herbert is healthy so his mobility will be a factor!
This all will make our offense more explosive and mopre consistent!

The Chargers' 9 giveaways was the 2nd fewest; Buff's 8 led the league. The Bolts had 21 takeaways, 13th. Their +12 differential was tied for 3rd.

The Chargers have a good chance to break that streak. I hope not though.

We averaged 134 ypg in the games that we won. 64 in the games we lost. That does not sound like a function of the RBs. A RB is only as good as the O line
in front of them. Can't average 134ypg in 11 games and say the RBs were bad.

Maybe we're better at the RB position this year. But the reason we lost 6 games against good opponents is because our passing game and running game stunk
in those games. More importantly the passing game could not get it done once the run game failed.

LOL, the streak stands at 1. NFL has only played 1 regular season game in Brazil. This year would make it 2.

Dicker the Kicker scored 33XPs and 117 on FGs. 150 total reg season pts and 37% of our offensive scoring

Not sure how to count that. O got him in position but he's STs.
                        Any way, Yay Dicker!

Which rookie pass catcher do you predict will make the biggest impact on this game?

                          Tre' Harris
                          KeAndre Lambert-Smith
                          Oronde Gadsden II
