Losing your All Pro LT in training camp is potentially a big blow, unless you have another All Pro caliber OT who can step in and take over seamlessly. This is what is over-looked by the pundits when assessing the impact of losing Slater. The impact is not to LT, it is to RT. And while Pipkins is definitely a downgrade to Alt, Pipkins is a veteran who has a lot of experience playing RT, and is part of an OL group that has some cohesion going into their 2nd season together. In that context, losing Slater may not/hopefully will not be the disaster that it looks like on paper to pundits who don't know the Chargers very well.

This, good response. I'm hoping it may not as well. I'm sure Harbaugh and Gro have a game plan...

Last year when we faced KC after Pittsburgh we were without Alt and Slater in the first game and we were without Ladd in the second game against KC.

Most forget this. As healthy as we are, I'm thinking we have the best shot to beat them on over a year!

Looks like Jalen Royals, their 4th rnd rookie, is not going to play. Their WR looks like this:

Xavier Worthy. Marquise Brown. JuJu Smith-Schuster. Tyquan Thornton. Nikko Remigio. Jason Brownlee.

Is it worth noting Worthy weighs 165 lbs and Brown 180?

And not to forget the newly engaged soon to be 36 yo Travis Kelce.

Not worried about their recievers. Worry about Mahomes. He extends plays and finds his shitty receivers wide open. Worthy is
a problem because the guy is very fast. He can easily get behind our DBs if Mahomes gives him the time. We saw this last year
              when he burned us deep.

At any rate I'm watching how our offense is going to do in this game. This was a major problem last year.

I trust JH to go through his progressions quickly and find the open targets.
Wood mentioned 12 personnel, and I expect a heavy dose of that. Looking for Conklin to start cooking early.
Keenan is a master at presenting an open target. Not Big, Wide open but enough for a completion. Ladd is the only player I've watched that compares well. I wonder if Spags will try to double both.

When they let Rivers walk, I didn't know if I would live long enough to see another Chargers QB as good as Phil. Surprise. When they traded Allen to Chicago, I didn't know if the Chargers would find another WR who could create separation like Keenan in my lifetime. Surprise again. Ladd McConkey is a better version of Keenan, and now we have both of them. I doubt they can double both and get away with it, not with a QB as good as Herbert.

I hope Spags tries to double both. If it was me I would put McDuffie on Keenan and double LADD. If this happens i hope KLS breaks out. If, if, if...

Agree! We must keep mahomes in the pocket where he is good, but not great.....when he escapes, he is elite!.... NEVER rush deeper then the QB!

On Offense, we need to finish drives with TD's not FG's.... and if game is close, we cannot let Mahomes and reid have the ball last, which is usually how we lose to them.....
