Yep, there will be weeks where teams play defense to stop the pass... especially with this WR corps.
In those circumstances, a big dose of Hampton/Najee will be welcomed.
Haskins can be used in the 4th quarter... when we have big leads. He's a very good pass blocker, too. All three of the RB's are good pass protectors. This roster is starting to look deep... and made in the image of Harbaugh/Roman/Minter.
I had to look it up as I thought we were predominately a pass team vs KC. Not exactly. We were predominately more successful passing.
I think partly because KC is better vs run than pass but also pass practice is closer to the real thing than run practice. And Najee not in best shape.
Hold our beer. The run is coming.
And meanwhile Herbert and the receivers are only getting started.
Go Bolts!

We know that Keenan was never a burner, it wasn't his game, it was his initial burst and "wiggle" that allowed him to turn DBs around. WRs whose game didn't revolve around speed when they were young more often have longer careers, because the ability to run routes that create separation is a physical skill that ages well; pure speed does not, it diminishes appreciably with age. The Keenan WR who pre-dated KA, McCardell, had one of the best seasons of his career at age 35, he was Brees' #1 WR in 2005, almost 1K yds and a career high 9 TD receptions. Speed was not McCardell's signature skill either, it was route-running, like KA, who is only 33 btw.

I would like it to be, but we have drafted five young receivers - Johnston (2023) in the first round, McConkey (2024) and Harris (2025) in the second round, Davis (2023) in the fourth, and Lambert-Smith (2025) in the fifth round. So although KA is a starter this year and his route running, ability to get open and make key catches is up there with the all-time greats, I suspect the team might want to get this year’s rookies more involved as time goes on (especially come next season). That said, I would be on board for keeping KA around for as long as he wants because he can be a key safety blanket for Herbert.

If we have Humphries then the other way around but it doesn't mak sense to me to keep the Ferrari in the garage. Drive that golden sumbitch.
I looked before the game at KC's defensive stats from '24 and it looked like pass offense would our best bet in that game. I expected to be pass heavy and was surprised at the apparent 50/50. I'm looking forward to LVR. I think we improve the run stat there.

However if they didn't sign him, id have been ok with it as well , but figured we would sign another and he was the best option of what was out there.
I was never one of those who said he was only a slot guy.
