think we have to face the music and real eyes we don’t have a great run blocking line, albeit that they might be better pass blockers than we knew.

also agree that Fisk needs to spell Matlock.
The Chargers went with 4 WR sets five times vs the Chiefs on Friday. We haven't seen that in a while.
I'd keep a RB in the backfield... and run out of that 4-WR formation.
Omarion got bottled up v Chiefs... because that was Spags game plan. I'd like to see what OH can do with a little space.

The play-action left Conklin wide open a couple of times. I hope your boy OG gets some PT this game.
A little more play time for Tre Harris, KLS, and Gadsden this game...?

Our run blocking was spotty last week because the LB's were moving forward, reading run, almost every play. Numbers.
Let's see if the Raiders do the same thing (read run first). If so, Herbert will feast again.

      Run the ball
      Play great defense

BTW... I bet we don't go 4-WR sets very often. The smart move would be to give Pipkins some help vs Crosby.
Will Dissley got a game ball from Harbaugh. His help pass blocking was probably the reason why.
Herbert had great pass protection v the Chiefs. Hampton proved to be a good pass protector too.

If the Chargers team that played the Chiefs in Brazil shows up, the Chargers **should** win this game by a couple of scores.

The Raiders play the Patriots today in NE in a couple of hours, I'll be watching, curious to see what Ashton Jeanty is about (and Pats rookie RB Treveyon Henderson).

Chargers @ Raiders will feature a battle of the #1 and #2 RBs in this draft, hope Omarion brings his A game to Las Vegas. He didn't wow in Brazil.

Geno Smith throwing to Brock Bowers and a WR corps that features Jakobi Meyers, coming off his 1st career 1k yd season, and two rookies.

only saw bits of the second half, albeit the one quasi draw play, and screen out wide left I saw, coulda been better designed/schemed ??

also don’t like putting Najee in there as suspect he’s not quite ready and won’t be for a few more games, and…. given that, would like to see Haskins out there some to lighten Hampton’s load.

know that Hampton is good, albeit would still prefer to more ease him in, and not ask too much of him too soon.
We passed 34 times and ran 18 times not counting Herbie’s runs (I’m not sure how many of his 7 runs were planned, definitely not all as it includes sacks)

I said all off-season that expectations of a 55-45 run/pass, or even 50-50 was not going to happen. Maybe one out of four games it might but the following is why not:

            1. Our OL are better pass pro than run blockers - would love to see that more 50/50 but ain’t seen it yet
            2. LAC added 2 new TEs that are better receivers - more TE pass potential
            3. LAC added 3 new WRs that are better receivers - no longer one receiver to cover - more open more times
            4. Justin The Golden God Herbert!!!

We will see more games like the KC game than otherwise - you don’t throw rocks at the enemy when you have a howitzer in the barrack
Justin Herbert is Elite. Ride or Die ...

Omarion didn't wow in Brazil because Spags game plan was to stop the run with numbers. Of course that left a lot of space for Herbert to throw to his re-fortified WR corps.

I hope to see Roman use Crosby's aggressiveness against him. Let him rush outside... then run counter-gap to his side.
Block down left, pull Zion right, and run that counter down their throats. Get the rookie some space.

If the Raiders decide to stop the run ala Chiefs... then Herbie should light up that secondary. I'm good with that, too.

                Hear me out.

1a) Its gonna be a low scoring game because its a tough divisional opponent.

1b) Its gonna be a low scoring game because Harbaugh will choose to ground and pound the ball and clock out with a comfortable lead and not give Denver film to study our offensive firepower when we unleash J-Herbo en-route to a 3-0 record via AFC west before playing the Giants for potential 4-0 start of the season.

It's insane they have kickoffs that late.

Yes should be Crosby v Pipkins. That will require some help. Pass/run mix was 70/30 against the Chiefs. We'll see how that plays out.

7pm Vegas time. I don't like The MNF double headers

its the MNF doubleheader issue "Disney" wanted to get eyes on both games sequentially. I'm glad it's just a short fight from Vegas to LA, probably right after the game for the team, compared to the 11hr one from Brazil.

                          1a) You mean like KC?

1b) We'll continue to work on the run game but we're better passing. Priority one is a W.
Vs KC we were roughly 40/60 R/P. Maybe @ 45/55 R/P vs LVR. Let's see what our D can do.
                          One W at a time.
