This off-season I suggested that QJ might make the same improvement this year as he made last year.
That would mean a stat-line of: 72/1000/14.

Right now, he's on pace for: 79/1350/17.

I said before the season that QJ could have 10+ TDs this year and 1000+ yards if he continued his improvement.

yes, that is actually what i was saying. it sounded 50/50 most of the game, but after the Keenan TD and game winning drive, the charger fans finally let loose. and sounded like a small majority.

for a home field though, it was pretty bad. this will take years to fix. 2-0 team with a win over KC, i was expecting more charger fans.

And that was their "home opener"...
I was expecting 50/50 crowds all along. They just don't have the fanbase in LA... and growing fans out of thin air just wasn't going to happen... no matter the team's record/coach/GM/owner. Most people thought us San Diegans would travel. I kind of like watching from the couch, like everybody else. Way cheaper... and I get a majority of my Sunday's back.

I’m going to get killed for this, but if we could get a 2nd round pick or a quality OL or DE in a trade for QJ right now I would take it.

His value is as high as I think it’s ever going to get, and while he has been very good for 3 games on a row, frankly I just don’t trust him in this small sample size after watching his first 2 years. I think Harris and KLS will both exceed him by end of this year or next year with more reps. Justin can make anyone look great especially with Ladd and Keenan drawing coverage. Fire away.

Tucker and Rome Odunze share the lead in TD catches with 4. QJ and Keenan Allen both have 3.

Herbert has a lot to do with QJ's numbers. Doesn't Herbert have the most throwing yards in the league this season? Pretty surprising being Roman's O is famous for being run first?

Let's face it if Herbert was passing to any of these WR's they'd probably be top of the list? Could you imagine the numbers Nacua would have if Herbert was his QB!

Thankfully for the Chargers they don't have to worry about this with QJ.

He's my breakout player from that thread; but truthfully, that was more hopium than careful analysis on my part.

He's exceeded everyone's expectations .... many here buried the guy, or flat out demanded that he be kicked off the team immediately post draft.
It was frustrating listening to people opine that he had no explosion to his game.

Leslie O'Neal had his knee blown out by one of his own guys, Woodrow Lowe who was trailing and late on the play and then dove low missed the ball carrier and wiped out O'Neal's knee...I think it was against the Colts...I'll take your word about Grossman and Williams, I vaguely remember the Williams injury, the Grossman injury has slipped my mind and been lost to Father Time...O'Neal stands out to me to this day because he was unbelievable, he was going to be one of the undisputed elite pass rushers of all time, he still ended up notching the same number of sacks as Lawrence Taylor for his career 132.5 but gets no fucking respect by the assholes at the hall of fame because he played most of his career on losing Charger teams, later he had success both with the Chiefs and then the Rams but still most of his sacks came with San Diego...and he did most of that shit with one good leg...knee surgeries in 1986 were a real horror show compared to the refined technical expertise of today's surgeons. If I remember correctly it took Leslie almost 2 years to return from that injury and even tho he wasn't as physically capable as he had been his off the charts technical expertise with the pass rush moves allowed him to continue to be a force...he had the biggest tool box of pass rushing moves, the guy was a fucking master of pass rushing, combined with his intelligence was able to set up O-linemen several times during the course of one game, something that a lot of pass rushers might only accomplish once per game if they are very good....name a move and Leslie had mastered it, you want spins, you want rips, you want swim, you want speed to power, you want to keep an OT guessing? O'Neal was your guy, he was unbelievable and his hands were strong as fuck, once he got his hands on someone they went down, not like a lot of guys that miss TFLs and sacks routinely...

People forget the burst of O'Neil off the line that first season .... it was like he was shot out of a cannon.

The great Leslie would have been one of the all time greats, if not for the injury .... a better version of Dwight Freeney

Chargers fans are overrating Rocket Sanders. The Browns have only activated him for one game - week 1. He had 3 carries for 3 yds, one just happened to be for a TD. They didn't activate him for week 2 or 3, he's 4th on their depth chart. The Chargers need a veteran on the depth chart behind Hampton. I'd love to see Breece Hall come to the Chargers. He's on the final year of his rookie contract, a UFA next season, $4.3 mil against the cap this season. I think he's much better than his numbers indicate, he just plays for a FUBAR organization. I don't know if the Jets would make him available or what they would ask for him.

I agree on both counts. Crazy to offer a 7th rounder for an UDFA who did not make the final cut with the team even if the RB room seemed to be stacked at that time. We need a young vet as an insurance policy, not some UDFA just because his nickname is Rocket!

So, do we now place Rocket on the Almost Next Big Thing List, along with Bandy and Dot?
