Conklin had 2 targets with 0 catches. Maybe he wasn't in the game plan. Seems like GRo made an adjustment with OG. Whatever they did it worked.

I think Roman wanted Conklin close to home to help with that pass rush and all the stunts and games the Broncos run.

I meant this year - the 2nd year, most improved player in camp, LT Alt.

He got worked the last game of last season by speed at RT.

I wonder if OG showing up in such a big way is going to affect KLS being active going forward.

I got to think so. I can't imagine them not activating a #2 or #3 TE for a #6 WR. IMHO, OG earned it to activated on game day. I think GRo is going to have some plays for him. The guy has really good hands and he is hard to cover.

You could be right. It's hard to catch everything on the 1st watch. I would be interested in seeing a breakdown later this week on the game.

Under Shanahan the Denver OL played pretty dirty. Just ask Leslie Grossman or Luis Castillo. They used to go after guys knees

Burt Grossman, Leslie O'Neil, & Jamal Williams, who got taken out for the year by a sneaky Denver lineman from behind, diving at Jamal's ankles.
Chargers were 8 - 4, and it cost them a playoff appearance.
They couldn't stop the run after that.

And then there was Bree's injury. Who knows what shitty little things, per instruction, Denver defenders did to him in that pile.
Denver has been the dirtiest team in the division for decades.

Pipkins struggled with the bullrush today. When Deculus came in he handled the bullrush just fine

I just saw Deculus singled up In pass pro on one play: I thought he was a bit like Storm, but with steadier sea legs and he won out on the play. Storm's were always tooth pick thin and wobbly.

I think the Chargers are going to have to roll with who they have. Give them 2 more good drafts and a couple of good free agent signing and this team is going to be set for several years. I just don't think they have the horses to win it all this year, but I do know they have the mental fortitude to do it. The Chargers have been quietly in rebuild mode and purging the roster and adding their own players They are going to have to play out of their minds if they are to win it all, IMHO.

Two more? Telesco's final draft was very good.

Five years means the people drafted in the first year are now gone, or very expensive. Five years is a NOrv type plan .... because he's not accountable until the 5th year.

I disagree: the Chargers were the better team at the end - they beat Denver. They didn't get the benefit of turnovers - Denver did; Denver didn't miss any field goals.

Chargers outscored them, out gained them, out time possessed them, and made the plays at the end .... like the elite teams do.

The Colts put up way better numbers against the same Broncos defense in week 2, perhaps that's what he was referring to...and they don't have Justin Herbert under center...

I truly believe the first 2 weeks is burn the tape material.
last night was the real Denver D that's more aligned with their potential. They were fast, furious, dirty and desperate.
Nix played a very disciplined game, special teams was better than ours!
Denver is a good team and we took their best shot in the mouth and gave ours back.

Let me clarify, IMHO, the Chargers are going to have to overachieve this year if they are to win the SB. The depth is a lot better but lacking along the o-line and the defense got lucky yesterday because Nix overthrew 3 wide open WRs. This is the 3rd game in row where the Chargers defense as had broken coverage deep down field. I don't think Allen is going to let them get away with that.

By 1-2 years I'm referring to the roster being built where you can count on the Chargers being there minus a catastrophe, IMHO.

Well Harris is another big salary to IR. Chargers have to be near the top in Cap space on IR

C hargers probably will need a RB and more OLine depth
Not sure who is out there but Hortiz will be churning for sure
