Was an unusual game in that respect. LAC had been below average in plays run over first two weeks.
i thought we actually looked our best against the chiefs. we kind of struggled to move the ball (most of the game) against a punchless raider team, and denver's defense made it a slugfest that we barely won.

I tend to agree. Offense was not that good against the Raiders especially at the end. Denver required Herbert heroics or what Harbaugh described as "impossible". Nix couldn't hit wide open guys running free or it would have been much different.

The Giants secondary should be better than it is playing so far. Their safeties are decent on paper, they signed Jevon Holland this year and drafted Tyler Nubin pretty high last year.

I remember that, how weird that was, it really hurt the Raiders too...and he was like one of the better centers in the NFL during that time, so not like he was just a guy, he was a legit loss...

I keep hearing that and reading that, but I don't see it in the data ... Fortunately, if they do put it together, our QB has an extraordinary amount of experience working under pressure. In addition to their pressure stats, NYG are 31st in rush defense (chart below) and total defense (yards allowed).

Dart does have more talent than Russ, I'm counting on opening day jitters and Minter confusions to cause enough hesitations or errors that we win comfortably. I'm just not going to find a way to worry about the NYG, apologies I've busted some balls for those that are - I didn't mean to be the ass-hat I guess I sounded like, I'll try to dial back. Just havin' some fun with my pals, I was raised by wolves.

the thing is he PHYSICALLY CANT do what he did when he was younger...escape the pocket for 5 more seconds and find the open receiver downfield after every DB was done covering. that was his game back then...not nomo it aint. I used to like him early in his career but like you said...that shit he pulled at the end of the Seahawk era was a diva act and I hate divas. glad he's suckin now.

Agree. Russ has been washed for 4+ seasons. Its glaringly obvious in his play, his tape, and his results. SEA knew exactly what they had and what they were doing ... teams don't dump good starting QBs. My only wish is that DEN still believed in him but I'm not worried too much now that they have Nix so ... all good. Any duel between Herbert and either of them strongly favors the Chargers.

                  all jmo, ymmv.

Center, RG, and RT could all be backups Sunday. Andre James, Jamaree Salyer, Austin Deculus.

Thing you never expected to see as early as the 4th game of the season…

If Nix was Joe Willie Namath on the deep ball, then yes, it would have been much different.

Went to the Chiefs website and someone made the joke, universally agreed upon there, that Nix should never be allowed to throw the deep ball .... he's incapable of making those throws.
With the long TD pass to Sutton at the end of the 1rst half, his quota was reached .

Everyone can question specific plays, I argue that happens to every team every week but thats ok. Bottom line is once again, Minter knew what he was doing vs DEN. the proof is on the scoreboard and in the box score.
