Hear ya, jaguarmanftype, and everyone else, re Ja'Sir.

I happen to like Taylor for Special Teams and at CB when he can match up.

It is fanciful, but then again it's the Saints. Both Staley and Moore like Ja'Sir, so it isn't implausible as their secondary is a struggling unit (albeit likely due to Staley's scheme) and Ja'Sir gives them a known, veteran presence that they'd likely think they can depend on.

I don't know, Ja'Sir is not a factor on ST like he was before, and at CB, he isn't even in the rotation even if Reed were to go down. I would bet they'd have RJ Mickens or St-Juste play the nickel before they give him any snaps. I think Ja'Sir knows his time is up here, personally.

The two Staley-era Telesco secondary picks have seemingly regressed under Harbaugh and I'm not sure how that is possible, considering players like St-Juste and Tony J were considered to be below average players before, and are completely different players in this scheme. St-Juste and Tony J have been playing very good football -- probably the best ball of their careers, yet Taylor and Leonard have not seemingly improved. I'll withhold complete judgment on Leonard because he has been injured for most of Harbaugh's tenure, but we've seen Ja'Sir out there already and it wasn't any different than what we saw under Staley.

Here's something for you all to chew on...Has Gadsden not only eclipsed all other Charger tight ends, shocked the NFL into taking him (very) seriously...but as impossible as it may be to suggest...has the dude already become:
WEAPON ONE in the passing game? Just asking!

Here are stats from game four onwards.
                  #1 in Receiving Yards.
                  #1 Yards Per Attempt...by a mile
#1 (by far) in completion percentage when targeted.
#1 Quarterback rating when working with Justin.

Herbert famously likes to distribute to who he has confidence in.

Velo has shown that we have several players accumulating yardage.

Experts like to talk about "layering", where Herbert has several options on each play. Each weapon has things they do well. IND uses this operating system at an historic success rate.

For the Chargers, it will be according to coverages and gameplanning, us offensively and opponents defensively.

Gadsden is making plays that are challenging for rookies to make. This is very impressive. Production for Oronde could go through the roof, as you suggest.

Ja has physical cover abilities and he shows it on some plays - but he makes a higher than acceptable rate of mistakes in coverage. The question will always be - can he sort it out and learn the technique and scheme discipline required to be a good CB. Idunno - I doubt it.

Q missed some time - then last game he was used more as a decoy to open up the short and intermediate routes. Vikings generate good pressure, the plan was for quicker routes and Q was mostly sent to clear things. TEN doesnt create that same pressure, so Herbie could get more time in the pocket. Would not surprise me that now TEN needs to account for OG more due to the new tape and Q springs for some deep posts this week.

Ebbs and Flows. I do not expect the next to always be the same as the last. OG is going to be a fixture going forward though - I’m sure of that (no brainer)

Speaks to the importance of a TE. Herbert hasn't really had one since Henry left. Mahomes has had Kelce his entire career. Brady had Gronk and talked him out of retirement to come to Tampa. Rivers had Gates. Cannot be understated. Hopefully Gadsden becomes that for Herbert. And there's a new wave of great TE's now with Bowers, Warren and others
