we need to have someoine besides herbert, to run the ball on 3rd and one or 4th and one.....

backs without power dont last long in NFL... and cannot get you short yardage or goal line scores consistently.....

Hmmm...A common view, but:

1. Smaller backs don't mean lacking in power.

2. Top coaches aren't hesitant to deploy "smaller" backs for short yardage or at the goal line. Watch Reid's use of 5'10 Isaiah Pacheco. Or watch Shanahan's use of 210lb Christian McCaffrey.

Of course I am being whimsical and having fun, as this is what we have vs TEN.

But ok, let's be literal.

What am I saying ?
Our running backs would be hiding from defenders behind Alt and Zion, maybe even Becton.
Vidal and Patterson are both decisive. That is our best way, our only way.

James Cook, De'Von Achane, Rico Dowdle, Jahmyr Gibbs, Kyren Williams, are having productive years.

Might that be a solid counterpoint, at least to some of what you are saying ?

I am sure you and I both want Hampton back for our stretch run, no ?

I believe that both starting corners and their slot corner from the start of the year are all either traded or hurt.

Kimani Vidal's height, weight and 40 time are almost identical to Ashton Jeanty's. Austin Ekeler is also 5-8, but he's 195. Melvin Gordon was 6-1, 215 lb. James Cook, 2nd in rushing yards and averaging 6.0 yds per carry, is 5-11 190. Vidal is not tall, but he's not small.
