As long as you’re fantasizing, why not give him Jonathan Taylor too.

Is anyone interested in the Chargers- Jaguars? All this discussion about MVP and "It" QBs includes mostly Herbert doesn't have "It". Does that mean we don't have a chance vs Jags with our no playoff W, no IT QB?

I beg to differ. We're correctly favored IMO. We can't fool around with Jax but SHOULD beat them comfortably.

        Don't need to fantasize
The Chargers have the players --- they just need to have an improvement in the middle of the OLine

Dielman, Hardwick and Goff with Slater and Alt would "feed children as they say"

The DL isn't getting to Herbert so they stick their hands up?

            Fair enough
            back on topic!

The Jags are interesting. Beat KC but gave up a huge lead to the Texans last week
Hunter is out but they traded for Jakobi M
            Etienne is pretty decent

I think the early road game, has me giving the edge slightly to the Jags - but the Bolts ,this would be a helluva win!

Bolts-Jax is another game (like Bolts-Titans) nobody wants to watch apparently. CBS is only broadcasting it in So Cal, around Jax in Fla and in the Eugene, OR area. Tampa-Beefalo is CBS' featured morning game, most of the nation will get it. Will have to watch our game via the service that shall not be named.

It's going to be an interesting Sunday of football. Bolts in the AM, Chiefs-Broncos in the Aft (Seahawks-Rams also) and Lions-Eagles on SNF.

I'll take Monday off from football, Cowboys-Raiders, bleh.

Chargers' 3rd down defense will win us this game. They suck on 3rd down offense. We're one of the better defenses. Turnovers will be the equalizer the time zone advantage.

Don't be surprised if this was a blowout.

Season stats: Jags have slightly better run D, we're much better at pass D. We're better across the board on offense. Jags have a better turnover differential.
Last three games: We beat Min, Ten and Pit. Jax lost to Rams, W at LVR, L at Hou.
                  10am away games, we're 2-1.
I like the Chargers to win largely based on defense. They really stepped up vs Pit.

Different year… different team… I understand all of that… but in the two games played against the Trevor Lawrence Jags in the past (2022) the Chargers failed to hold them under 30 points.

Im hoping the defense shows up, and if they show up, I’m hoping that they don’t have a second half meltdown. I’m also hoping Herbert and the offense/running game are ready to go.

There have been plenty of other quarterbacks who have come up big in the most crucial moments. Those three and Unitas are just the greatest in NFL history, and I'm not expecting that from Herbert, nor do I care about it. My goal is to see the team win a Super Bowl and hopefully at least a few more after that. I couldn't care less if the quarterback, running back, defensive back, whatever is awarded Super Bowl MVP.
Otto Graham had "IT" played 10 seasons went to the championship every year and won 7 of them. Oh and because that was not enough he played a season as a point guard for the Rochester Royals and won an NBL championship as well (the NBL would go on to become the NBA). He is the greatest QB of all time when you get down to it.

Its a Spero and Aditi Kinkwhabala game
they get the worst game of the week end - usually for CBS

But trying to spin it into something Herbert is doing wrong is silly. All QBs get passes batted and as I pointed out, Rivers had 21 passes batted in his last 2 seasons in the league and nobody complained about it for him. Herbert had 21 in the 23 and 24 seasons combined and for some reason it is made out to be a major issue.
yeah, agree. I haven't denied bad things can happen whenever a ball is loose in an uncontrolled unintended manner, for whatever the reason. Guys are free to believe Herbert has an unusual problem. They are factually wrong, data is clear, but they can still believe it. I don't see a point to their criticisms though even if they were true - I can't identify that constructive part. Did I just miss the constructive solution proposals, Rich?
