The Defense is awful

What is astonishing to me about the defense today was they were only on the field for 19:43 yet they gave up 30 points and 511 yards of offense.

That happens when the O snaps the ball with 20 seconds left on the clock. They almost had an average amount of plays in that time (think it was 59).

the eagles O looked like what our O used to look like....just large chunks of yardage on big plays that don't take a lot of time off the clock...then abysmal when the big plays aren't their or aren't executed properly.

With the improved offense, had we remained a top 10 defense, I think we would have been a playoff team.

If we can consistently play like this, regardless of the O and D ranks, I think we will be in playoff...

We stopped their run game the key to Kellys offence that allows them to run so meny plays. Thats the key to not getting gassed vs them.

I think this is a good point. I think the gameplan was to make them one-dimensional by taking away the run because last week McCoy and Brown went nuts (and we didn't do a very good job with Tate and Foster). Doing that forced the game into Vick's hands and while he can make the big play from time to time, he can't be counted on to convert due to his accuracy issues.

I think we were really quite effective against the run, which is a good development and an improvement over the previous week. I also agree with Beerman, that the loss of Williams really i going to hurt this group all year.
