Haskins just came back from IR too.

I want more than average too. Imagine having OL6 and OL7 rumbling at the 2nd level while OL1-5 are already making their primary blocks. Or imagine 5 receivers with the pass rush bottled up. Or … yeah, a better OL would do a lot - we might even become Roman fans.

I would not object to an end to the Matlock experiment too. That guy whiffs a lot, am I wrong and its normal for a FB to whiff so often?

Feels like Matlock has improved a lot over the season versus earlier in the year. So I don’t see us cutting him.

Re Matlock, I think he has improved. I'd like to see the OL improved before I made other changes. With our top OTs in the game Matlock's
responsibility should be more obvious for him.

I’ll bet he’s there for the duration, until next year? The kid has some promise though, I look forward to his sophomore camp.

I havent ISO’d on him but I haven’t really seen it. I saw him face down on the ground again picking turf pebbles out of his teeth last week a couple times. I can’t say it was less than early in the season, I’ll defer.

I would keep and look for more improvement. When he does engage that guy blocked is no longer in the play i.e: people dont shed Matlocks blocks. clean the whiffs up and he will be cheap solid FB

I'm not wildly supportive of him either but Harbs seems to like him and he's my guy. And I'm sure he should look better working around an OL of quality blockers. I'd like to see how that goes. I believe everyone on offense is impacted by the poor OL blocking. Straighten that out first.
