6.5 would seem like (modest) starting money but let's remember two things:
-There's more money in the pool than ever before, so things can be inflated
-Free agency tax is a factor.
I don't think the Chargers are locked in at Strange as a starter. I think they view it as a baseline going into the draft.
Yep...I have been pounding the table for MONTHS for O-line DEPTH...QUALITY depth...let Strange compete for a starting G spot...if he doesn't get it, he's at least an upgrade over dudes like Becton (I hope)...and I STILL pound that poor table for a quality G in either round 1 or 2...and I am ALSO still pounding the table for another FA G signing...

Have you broken your table...or your hand...over Spencer Bruford lol ?
Agree with this… I think they take at least 1 IOL in the draft and sign 1 more. If it’s either Teller or somebody like Ben Bartch I’m good with. If it’s somebody like Bartch, I think they take a G within the first 2 rounds. If it’s Teller, I think they take one in the 3rd or 4th.
Buford?????
it is also worth remembering that Taylor will be competing at OG this year. He needs to learn to move his feet better, but he was able to handle Zach Allen decently in his only game time last year.

If they do sign Burford, I am just going to try and trust the vision. He obviously knows the scheme. Had a bad year last year and hope he can become a good back up or a decent starter if that’s what they do. Even if they do sign him, I still think they draft an IOL in the first 3 rounds. As of now, it looks like an Edge in the 1st.

Herbert is infinitely more mobile than Tua. We will have an offense that is more multi dimensional.
Defenses have gone ahead in the back and forth. McDaniel has put on his lab coat. Could receiver (Tyson), or circling back with possible availability tight end (Sadiq) be in play at #22 ?
Penning had an elite RAS score. Strange's snaps were to block for the ultimate statue.
We forge ahead into the great unknown. The narrative is yet to be written.

If McD is good with Big Buford, I would welcome the addition...by my estimation, we need one more FA G and one more G in the draft...if one of those is a swing T-G, and the other a swing G-C, that would be nice...

Hoping that Taylor has a Vidal 6th round resurgence in year 2. But it’s good to hedge against that plan failing. Would feel better if I knew we were drafting a Day 1 or 2 OL, as well as another Day 3 OL for depth,
