Man - how long ago was Price club = Price club? The OG big store. I remember we called it the Century Club cuz you’d always spend $100 no matter what you had thought you went for. man, if i could get out of Costco doors only spending $100 now, I’d go buy a lottery ticket!

I'm talking about things that happened over 35-38 years ago, I want to say I worked there from 88 until right before the merger with Costco and so like 3 years...Costco got rid of a lot of people I was pressured to go full time and kindly turned them down as I was getting ready to start teaching. Price Club was one of my favorite jobs ever, I loved it, the work culture there was unbelievable, parties, barbecues, softball and basketball games, we would get together and go deep sea fishing, it was an awesome place to work...being a part time guy I worked mostly on weekends as I was going to school during the week and I saw a lot of local and national celebrities go into that store over the years, probably due to it's proximity to La Jolla, wealthy folks enjoyed that 15% markup too, LOL!

Dang.....I remember when we drafted him out of Arkansas I believe. Everyone was stoked to get him.

Very sad. Not surprised he was dealing with CTE - what a horrible end to your life dealing with that.

My favorite BR story was one he told on his show that coming out of college there were questions about his speed. When the Chargers privately worked him out, one of the coaches had him stand at the goal line and walked out to the 40 yards line to time his 40 time with a stop watch. While he was walking out to the 40, BR snuck up to the 5 yard line while the coaches back was too him. The coach then timed him for a 35 yard - 40 time and the team was happy with his speed and we obviously drafted him.

His father, Billy Ray Smith Sr, died at the age of 66 .... but that was listed as cancer.
