Same build. Same number. Same passiveness. Always half a step behind. I think we were all encouraged by the signing this offseason but I've seen zero from this guy.

Hate to pick on one guy and granted these guys are getting little help from the pass rush but they just flat out cannot cover anybody. The play before Locker's game winning TD he went after Cox's man and Cox was burned badly but Locker overthrew the ball. I can probably think of at least another 4-5 times that has happened so far this season and for a guy who we already KNOW gets burned a lot, that's saying something.

It's frightening how brazenly other QBs are just attacking our corners.

Derek Cox is nothing like the Candy Man or Toast. Sorry, he may not be, so far, everything the Union Tribune tried to make him out to be. But he doesn't totally suck ass either. The bigger concern at corner is depth. Cox is injury prone and so is Wright.

He has 3-4 PD's that I can think of. Same with Weddle. Rest of the secondary is doing jack. Our CB's aren't getting any help deep or over the middle. This is an offensive league and unless you're paying a CB $10MM/year all you really want is 2-3 plays a game and solid tackling.

This. Chargers pass rush sucks. Freeney can make some plays here and there but face it, he's a stop gap. Johnson can't rush the passer and English will never amount to anything. The worst part is that we still don't know what we have in Ingram.

Hopefully the coaching staff, in the future, will act like they have cox and go for first downs to win games. And maybe go for it on 4th and 1 in "No Man's Land."

Cox was TT's big offseason defensive signing who is making about $5M per year and who was supposed to be a big improvement over Cason and Jammer. Ain't seeing it myself. I suppose we should be thankful he hasn't gotten hurt yet.
