OT: Coming to SD in October and need a nice lunch spot recommendation

Went there a couple of years ago when I was visiting. I second this - the swordfish there was OHHHHMAZING.

Oh i know Cicciottis. Great food. Love Pesto. Make my own in fact. My brother used to be co owner of Rimels which is right down the street. He now owns Del Mar Pizza. Less stressful.

Oh yes! Pesto. My absolute favorite. Love the smell of fresh basil.

Las Olas (North County), Aladdin's in Clairmont is great food but in a strip mall (we go there at least once a month though, great food), Point Loma Seafood, The Prado at Balboa Park, George's or other rooftop restaurants in downtown La Jolla.

The Las Olas in Cardiff-By-The-Sea is located on an awesome stretch of beach that would make for a great walk after eating a large lunch with beers or margaritas. I used to jog that beach every day back in the early 80s. Just an amazing view. Sunsets there are to die for. I'd also expect you'd be able to see a few whales if you're coming in October. They should be migrating about then, if my memory serves correctly.

I have to say that when I have been dating and were sitting across the table from a potential mate I wasn't looking for whales unless the date was going really, really badly.
