And WR is the one position on the team that has depth, which is not to be discounted.

Brown played well and Allen looks great considering he's a rookie. Hopefully, both can build on that, but the team needs a talent like DX.

The only real silver lining to the game was the DJ Smash, and Keenan Allen comes in second to that IMO...

          There are no silver linings.
We were blown off the field by an organization in more dissaray going into this season than any other in recent memory.
I was starting to buy into this rebuild, but this is a humongous FAIL to this point.

Yeah, but Royal was pretty much shut down. Have to wonder if he wasn't getting more attention with his 5 TDs. Teams generally try hardest to shut down the hot guy. On a positive spin if this is the case then it is good that Rivers was going away from the coverage. But returning to the bad you generally prefer not putting the ball up in the air 48 times. When you throw it that much you have to expect WRs to have a lot of catches.

Royal has been getting bracket coverage the past two games, particularly in the red zone.

Think even Goff mentioned it in one of the post games. There's a reason our young WRs are working vs 1 on 1's.

Know which switch the Raider game flipped?
It flipped the NO WAY YOU EVER GO INTO THAT STADIUM AGAINST THAT TEAM UNPREPARED TO PLAY FOOTBALL switch.

I think we have to wait for the next win before we get anyone looking at the bright side. That should be on Oct 20 against the Jags who have already written off the season. I do think that after that game things on this board will turn very, very negative. In fact, at that point it might be hard to differentiate the "doomers" from the "optimists." Actually, I think the "optimists" will be much more negative than the "doomers" because I think the "doomers" were actually "realists."

I'm not usre the new coaching staff understands the rivalry. This loss reflects badly on both the coaches and the team leadership, or lack there of.
