Perhaps, as someone said, McCoy is helping him along by not benching him after a mistake. He also doesnt seem to be using him as a pass catcher out of the backfield. That's Woodhead's job (and Brown after Woodhead). So by showing more confidence in him, giving him less responsibility, and using him around 20 plays/game...perhaps that's the ticket?
