Who thought the backfield was a weakness. The minute Tommy T signed Woodhead it became a strength

Brown should be getting 5-7 touches/game; McClain 2-3; Mathews seems to be thriving (last 2 games) on about 20-22 (all handoffs, he had zero receptions in each of the last two); Woodhead the remainder.

Perhaps, as someone said, McCoy is helping him along by not benching him after a mistake. He also doesnt seem to be using him as a pass catcher out of the backfield. That's Woodhead's job (and Brown after Woodhead). So by showing more confidence in him, giving him less responsibility, and using him around 20 plays/game...perhaps that's the ticket?

McClain should be getting zero. Brown should get a handful of plays on one drive .

The rest is Woodhead and Mathews. And since Woodhead is a better blocker and receiver he should get more plays

Whatever formula works. I'm not married to my numbers. I like Brown because he can run, block, and catch passes out of the backfield...and he rarely fumbles. I threw McClain out there because I thought he had a couple of those 'up man' handoffs in each of the last two games. The remainder can be split, with more going to Woodhead (who I am beginning to like more than Sproles).

Both Mathews and Woodhead got 35 snaps this week (I think Woodhead's was actually 36) but basically even snaps.

woodhead being a better blocker than mathews is a myth. mathews has laid some punishment this year. ive seen woodhead get beat a few times. woodhead is obviously a better receiver though.

Matthews is 3rd in the AFC in rushing with I would say second pro bowl here he comes, but players in the super bowl don't go to the pro bowl.

I didn't believe this until I saw it and we didn't see it in preseason.

I would vote for Woodcock over Matthews tbh. He's had a bigger impact on the offense. Also on pace for 85 receptions. Matthews just needs to keep doing what he's doing and get the yards in front of him. Oh yea and stay healthy...

In New England it seemed every time Woodhead touched the ball it was for a 1st down and I believe he had the most YPC o any RB.
