    yeah.

Takeaways {divided by} drives. Then it doesn't matter how many drives there are, because you normalize per drive. It's like the difference between gross yardage and yardage per play. Yards/play normalizes per play.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing this and saying this correctly.

You said 1/3 takeaway rate not 1/3 takeaway rate per drive.

Remember the Legion Of Doom (LOD) from your old board? A couple real negative posters that kept hammering on some themes every chance they got and hijacked a lot of threads to keep the negativity going despite no evidence their dire predictions would come true. Well, a couple of those started on the last board in the offseason when the Spani hired TT & MM, continued into the FA signing periods and draft and continued on this new board until we started winning with backups. My post was a compilation of the early themes which are proving wrong lately. Not sure we still have a Sarcasm smiley, but I'll try to tip you off next time- or not

Right, I thought I got that. It's just that my sarcasm-ometer has been broken for some time now. I guess I wanted to be sure you were bein sarcastic, as I suspected.

That would seem to be more relevant.

                  Without superstud Shaun Phillips?

                  And without Barnes?

And without Ingram? And very little of Freeney?

I was pretty drunk at the time but looking at it now I think hew wanted takeaway ACCELERATION. Ya know, takeaways per (drive)^2.

I'm not sure of the benefits of that stat but it looks like we have a couple vertical asymptotes the first two drives, followed by near zero acceleration for awhile. Pretty good takeaway acceleration the last two weeks, though.

No Dwight Freeney, no Melvin Ingram, no problem. San Diego is coming off two straight dominant wins, and it's doing it on the back of a pass rush that isn't making excuses despite missing their top players
