This may be blasphemous, but I always thought that Chandler was a better WR than JJ. JJ was definitely more flashy, but Chandler was just a better receiver and football player. He not only had the monster game against Cincinnati in 1982 (the 260 yard game on Monday Night Football), but he also had the game against SF at Candlestick where he was being mugged by the defender in the end-zone. I think JJ was a perfect fit for Air Coryell and would have easily made the HOF if Klein hadn't banished him to GB, but Chandler was better for much longer than JJ. The Chargers really lucked out being able to nab Chandler after throwing JJ away like that.

Go to 7:24 for the catch.

I remember watching that game. I watched every minute of the video and loved it. Thanks for posting.

And I agree 100% with your take on Chandler vs JJ. I've always felt that to be true even though I dearly loved JJ and was crushed when he left town.
