He's on pace for almost 400 touches this year. While only 153 of his current touches are rush attempts, meaning he should fall well short of the "Curse of 370", he's not been a particularly durable back over his career and he's missing practice this week. His touch rate is about 25% higher this year than last year, which was his highest touch total at 320. Next highest is 275. His YPC this year is already significantly down from his career average.
If you assume we're still in a rebuilding year (I think we still are and the rest of the schedule will show it) and if this is the type of workload that will burn out Charles, it's actually a good thing that they are using up their best offensive player this year. He still doesn't have a lot of mileage on his legs, but with his build and skill set he could fall off quickly.
