This isn't helping my long-standing opinion about not taking WR's in the 1st Round.

does it change your opinion of the Chargers medical staff? Seems like they should have caught this (no pun intended) when checking him out pre-draft?

agreed. I hurt my lower back a couple years ago with a lifting/twisting motion I had done 1000s of times in my life with no problem. Turned out to be 1 ruptured and 1 bulging disc in L4/L5 area. They suggested no surgery needed and you do PT and other therapies plus rest and stretching and use muscle relaxers. I made a "full" recovery in about 1 year but can still aggravate it if I don't stretch enough or wear my elastic waist support when lifting most items over 10 lbs. He's much younger and more flexible than me, but I don't get tackled for a living either.

Or in the Charger's case, any player in the 1st round. It's a long standing curse.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

That sucks. Good thing we still have Allen, Williams, Inman, Benjamin, Henry and Gates. This team and injuries are synonymous with each other. Still choose to think positively about this team going into the season. The key is Allen. If he stays healthy we are fine. Big "if".

I would rather he miss OTAs and let therapy get him ready for the season.

If he misses Training Camp ill re-evaluate my emotions. But im pretty sold on our offense as long as we can block and protect. I mean we are simply fucking loaded. I didnt expect WR in the 1st.
