He was also saying Butler negotiations will happen after the Superbowl. Ghelkin was saying Butler has told his agent he wants to stay in SD and to get it done and the Chargers want him too so something should get done before the season. Ghelkin also seemed to imply they will probably go ahead and wait and see with Mathews.

Butler must realize he's missed so much time that his best option is to remain in this system he's familiar with, and try to play a couple of full seasons before seeking the big bucks.
