It's always a bad decision when your team doesn't execute.
And that is the season

Prediction:
Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

This season ended when Meachem was signed and Gaithers was extended. $12M dead cap space (10%) on a team with a highly paid QB and a poor draft history.
A lot of money into Clary and JJ and Royal and McClain and Cox and Gates and Weddle for not much current and/or future production.

Next year is gonna suck, too. Only ones I can blame on TT are Cox and Freeney.
2015 extend Rivers/Weddle should drop their numbers. Gates should either be gone or drastically reduced. JJ gone. Scifres extension. Phillips gone. Cox gone. That will clear about $30M in cap space. Cap number going in will be about $50M. $80M in room. Allen, Ingram, Fluker, Mathews (maybe), Green, Te'o all on rookie contracts. Reyes too if that means anything. And Troutman and the Williamses. Good number on Lissemore.
Possible extension for Liuget, Woodhead, Butler. But other than that, wide open and most of the Smith mistakes clear. We need 2 good drafts to follow up this one and to spend money in 2015. That's the year.
I know people don't want to think about another down year but there's really not a whole lot of choice. AJ left the cupboard bare. We don't have the resources to seriously compete before then.
