The New Orleans Saints took the national stage for their Week 2 preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night, ending their 10-game losing skid in the preseason.

Even by pre-season game standards I was completely underwhelmed. Saw absolutely nothing to provide hope anything has changed.

Two more injuries to the weakest part of the team..

When do mandatory cuts start? Think id start today but i understand they have to wait to cut some to be able to pick up other cuts. But Burse can go today. They have plenty of other WRs. Boston can go too.

There is only one mandatory cut this year. They will go from 90 to 53 after the last preseason game.

No Rivers = no wins. Otherwise this team seems like a normal Chargrrs team.

When cuts start we need to look at O-lineman, Safeties, or Corners who can play safety, and ILB's.

O-lineman is painful obvious too bad Lamp season is over before it even started zero depth at Tackle.

Safety Addae will start by default and experience, his counterpart might be Desmond King who seems to always be around the ball. Then you have Lowery, Boston, McCoil, Jenkins, Philps, and McDonald you can't cut all of them, but I am not overly impressed with none of them, I guess Jenkins and McCoil stick but we still need some depth.

ILB Outsitde of Toomer, I guess you could put Brown inside, but then you weaken the Outside. We probably need to look at both ILB and OLB pickups

Could be some of that. but there's no excuse for the first Saints TD. Not one player got off their block... they just accepted it, and got torched.

I liked the Lynn hire, and I'm not "out" on him by any means...but I will admit to doubt creeping into my mind after watching 2 shoddy performances, and a lack of fire on both sides of the ball.

oip is right though... preseason means bupkiss. the Pats have won the superbowl in years they went winless in preseason... and the Vikings have gone 4-0 in preseason and turned around and won 5 games in the season. (I know this because living in Viking country... I hear about how they are going to "dominate the league" every year they have a good preseason.

Hopefully, things look different when the games count.

I'm guessing - not positive - that the Patriots were more/less a complete team in their preseasons that they went on to win the Super Bowl. Where as we are a team in transition that have challenging things to overcome - such as learning to block. and becoming consistently good at it. Then again, it's only been two weeks.
