Has anyone stated or even hinted at that as a slight possibility?

      Overreact much?

if you don't think we've heard the last of this fake gf stuff, i'm not sure what to say to you. it will be a distraction, it is a distraction. i didn't like his addition to the team for the simple reason he's either a complete idiot or a pathological liar. neither one is the type of person i like around.

as for the article, it overstated quite a few things about the chargers, and left out a few. not sure there's much value in a piece with several glaring mistakes. was funny about mathews though. although woodhead and mclain aren't terrible. mclain got a few yards a few seasons ago, right?

No mention of Butler or Reyes? This, plus the mention of the "productive" Takeo Spikes, IMO, means the writer didn't research the defense very well.

yep. Also, outside "analysts" and writers are glossing over the fact we were old and slow on defense. getting younger and faster is imperative to compete and it may take more than 1 year to find younger and faster stars to replace the old guard of Spikes, Phillips, Jammer, Franklin, Garay, etc. just because we lost a couple "names" and and didn't add any big names outside Freeney doesn't mean there isn't a plan to infuse talent and make the team more competitive for the long term. Better coaching and less injuries will determine how well this unit does more than recognizable names for lazy writers to tick off.

Of the two options, learn the playbook or learn how to work with the press and our pr department, wich would you rather any rookie focus on OIP?

Why can't he do both? The question itself makes it seem like one option would take away from the other option.

Butler has been an excellent player, but was hurt late last season just as he was getting consistent props around the NFL. Reyes was a rookie with very good potential, not a star in the mold of a Weddle at that point. Spikes seemed like Donnie Edwards at the end of his Bolts tenure, in that he could rack up the tackles stats but...

Look up the word "focus" in the dictionary. (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/focus - 5a : a center of activity, attraction, or attention <the focus of the meeting was drug abuse> 5b : a point of concentration)

He cannot, by definition focus on being a great player and focus on being a politically correct/media savy one at the same time. And the media thing really doesn't matter, so it had to go. At some point, he, and all the rest of the team need to pick up on how to deal with the media

Teo is being expected to play early in his rookie year, if not start from day 1. He has a lot of learning to do to be an NFL starting caliber LB. And since once the season starts, the learning curve is going to keep his head swimming, it is far better for him to focus on football.

Good point. If Bolts cannot find a way this season to get better pressure on the QB, especially towards the end of games, then you have to start pointing at Pagano & staff. McCoy retained most of what was already here as far as defensive coaches--He doesn't have to keep them around in 2014 if they don't get the job done this season. Pagano should be on the hot seat, IMO.

As far as our running game, McCoy has to find an acceptable plug-in starter once the injuries hit Matthews again. Whether it's Rock Baker or a rookie or waiver pickup, someone needs to be able to take 15-20 carries a game out of this bunch, if McCoy is serious about improving our running attack...

That belies the point. Sure he could have but would you rather he did both? Im fine with it. In this case it was a good call IMO.

What benefit was there to the team, letting him do both?
