Do we get any cap relief due to loss of pay from a suspension?

if we find a better option id be fine with upgrading and cutting him...he is replaceable

You don't even get cap relief if the player dies.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I always think its your job to know exactly what you're putting in your body. Regardless of the any one person who may be giving you whatever familiarity with the NFL's policies, you should know it, or at least have whatever checked out first, always.

I think that in 99.9% of these cases, the players know EXACTLY what they are putting in their bodies. These "Oh I didn't know but I'll take responsibility for it" are empty words.

NFL. Really should comr out with their tested and approved supplement lists. Work with the companies to market them even. Get agreements that compsnies dont change the formula. Otherwise its a crap shoot for players unless they can test the supplements by an independant lab which is kind of ridiculous.

there must be a way for the NFL to make money branding supplements...they arent using their marketing brains on this.

Look at it from the supplements companies perspective. If your product gets results, people will buy it. So are you going to throw in a few more vitamins or let it get accidentally contaminated with steroids?

There are rules. These guys know the rules. Every team has a consultant that players can talk to prior to taking something. The nfl has a hotline they can call to check on supplements before taking them. These rules exist to protect players...from themselves. Zero sympathy from me and there is no acceptable excuse.

They can even get samples of the supplements tested. Supplement companies make large batches of multiple formulas, so it isn't unheard of to get trace amounts from one batch in another. The NFL has set it up so every player can have those tested, so just this thing doesn't happen. It is a players own fault if they don't get ahead of the game and bring samples of the supplements they take to be tested.
