why all the Pat Mahomes hype?

We hope he falters, young QB's have burnt us before. Our defense this time is supposed to be different. I just want to see it in action before being 100% believer. The one team we struggle against the most are the Chiefs, it would be nice to make a statement right off the bat and stomp them.

We can beat them. Just minimize the penalties aand turnovers. Im not terribly afraid of their cbs anymore so test them with 4 wr sets spread out and see what they show us on D.... should b a fun game. Mohomes will make mistakes... shift around to confuse him. Hit his speed guys often and control Kelce. Get a lead and i think we can get ourselves in a good place.

Chargers need to spy and contain Mahones. He can and will run. He needs to have the crap beat out of him the first couple times he does that. Then he will hold the ball or throw picks. And the wheels will come off the Chiefs' bus. Especially (and I think he will) if good guy Alex Smith excels in DC.

AFC West is run by coach/GMs Reid and Gruden, neither of whom are good at both roles. And idiot combination of Elway/Vance Johnson-Joseph. Elway is so impressed with himself for winning the superbowl on the backs of Manning/Wade Phillips that he cannot see his own stupidity.(Does he have a drinking problem? He always looks like a drunk off a bender and I have known too many like that to not know the look) The Charger structure is superior to keep egos in check and balance power.

Good glimpse of the future/now....young and talented Chiefs and here we are with a declining Rivers and no long term plan to speak of.

Granted Rivers just sucks against the Chiefs, but not exactly the vote of confidence you want against the team you're chasing in the division.

He does look really good. But, we have many times seen guys come in and take the league by storm right away, only to see them struggle after the League gets film on them and start to see tendencies and what have you.

I'm not saying that is what is going to happen, I'm just saying it's happened before. Let's not quite anoint him yet.
