Kaser had a great season last year. His numbers were right on par with Marquette King. But his net through 4 games is brutal. He has regressed as a punter. The pk holds are something else all-together.

You know how i know Kaser was having a bad year? The kicker he beat out in camps father never stops reminding us fans that the Chargers picked the wrong punter. lol

His net average is bad this year because of the 91 yard punt return in the Chief game. If you take that away, his net punting numbers were not bad:

        49ers: 42.25
        Rams: 47.0 net
        Bills: 45.4 net

But every punter has long returns against them. It happens. Through 2 games according to Tripukas father and punting coach Kaser was brutal. Im just reiterating what they say. I dont follow kickers. Its not something im very interested in. I know the man wants his son on a team....but according to them Kaser wasnt doing very well from multimple standpoints. Maybe there are a bunch of hidden qualities for punters that we dont really think about. Hang time. Holding. etc etc.

For punters, the less you hear about them, the better, unless they are all-pros.

You know special teams are bad when kicking threads are our most productive threads.

Pro kickers should have enough legs to make extra points and short-distance FG automatically. It's the trust and confidence level that usually mess up the kicker mentally and then mess up the kick. If the kicker is at ease and confidence, trust the process, and comfortable with the timing, he will kick the ball accurately. Especially if he shown 1000 times in practices that he has the legs and the talent to make kicks and missed extra points in real game, and you know right away that he has been kicking scare. He has been nervous out there, especially in high pressure situation.

Kicking with fear and nervousness, always afraid that your mates will screw up, afraid that something will screw up back in his mind, uneasy with the timing, will cause the kicker to miss cheap shots. We need to make the cheap shots and extra points automatically before going into harder things.

About the 3 steps punt in the endzone and got blocked. Punters punt 3 steps 99% of the time since it so rare that he has to kick in the endzone. So endzone punt is a rare and uncommon play, so I'm sure the coaches, the ST staff on the sideline were yelling for him to take 1 step, like all coaches in all levels would in that situation. Those things usually are what they yelling on the sideline. It was Kaser who either didn't hear that, because his mind were else where. Or that he heard it and forgot and still did the 3 steps kick out of habit during the actual play.
From what I recall watching that play was the DT blew right up the middle untouched as I think Windt whiffed on the guy, so it didn't matter if Kaser took 3 steps or 1 step he was killed immediately I thought, am I remembering this wrong?

I wouldn't assume Stewart was yelling anything. He is a shitty coach.

It was Adrian Philips on the whiff. Not only did he take 3 steps, he didn't seem to have much urgency either. I am thinking most punters do get it off.
