Gruden has never worked with and developed a young QB has he? His biggest successes were with a very old Rich Gannon and older Brad Johnson. And I remember him saying that Nate Peterson was the best QB in the draft last year and would be a star. I am not worried about Raiders getting the next Peyton Manning from the draft with Gruden running the ship.

Could he be tanking this year on purpose to set up for a high draft pick plus the two number one picks from the Bears? If used properly, the picks could set them up when they move to Vegas. But that would mean some kind of plan rather than knee jerk reaction because he likes older players. I suspect the latter.

Gruden i do like but he has no real record for taking over and rebuilding teams. Oakland needs a lot of eork imo. I dont know his patience level. He sounds great on air but there is a reason hes been out of the game so long... if his team struggles it wiuld not surprise me if he jets after year 2.

You know, I doubt that Rich. Too much ego. Too much pride. Too much competitiveness not just in Gruden but in every nfl owner, Gm, head coach. I think he is trying his best to win. But not doing it.
