John Clayton just said RM will likely be doubtful. Hasn't practiced all week. Uhh, seems like his best games are against Denver.
Mathews doubtful?

It's true his best games are vs Denver. I was at the game in Denver in 2010...technically 2011 as it was the day after New Year's. He had an incredible game. Denver generally not physical enough to deal with him. It would def be an uphill climb without him, but I still think Woody, Brown and McClain can move the ball against them.

they should keep Mathews active, but just use McClain as the starting tailback and just pound, pound, pound up the gut on early downs the entire 1st half along with the short passing game to move the chains. Then bring in Mathews for the 2nd half after their defense is softened up. Let him run until it hurts and then sit him again if we don't need him that much.Life is too short to drink cheap beer

Mathews will be missed if he can't go, I still think we can run, but we will not get the longer runs, our line controlled a better and physical line that Cincy had even with Woodhead and Brown.
Missing Mathews will make it all more important when in the redzone to get 6 and not the FG. Our most explosive players outside of Mathews are Green and Allen, Green size and speed, and Allen ability to make yards after the catch so if we can't run these guys have to come up big time. Our D has to bring its A game for sure especially if Mathews doesn't play and we don't get the ground game going to control the clock
