My guess is that is what they told him (we strongly suspect an ACL tear) and hence his reaction. I'm hoping that it was more of a "we feel some instability in your knee, we need to wait for the MRI" and obviously he would still be disappointed.
His reaction and the way his teammates we're consoling him has me thinking the worst, I'm just hoping against hope. You'd think if it was a devastating injury, he wouldn't have walked off but you are correct, it's not that uncommon with an ACL tear either.
But it begs the question, if it was that obvious on the sideline, he sure did walk on it ok fairly wuickqu afterwards. Granted, there's nothing scientific in my assessment of that, just looking for a silver lining in all this.

That was an ugly hit. Too soon to know what it is. They need the imaging. Hopefully is just an mcl which is still a multi week injury.
Injuries can happen on any play. It is a violent, physical game.
I remember Perryman standing in full uniform on the sideline when he got hurt and thinking must not be that bad. The fact that mg3 walked off means little.
Hoping for the best. He has really been becoming an elite player. I credit Lynn for that

He was playing injured. We were up by a good amount and the D was stout at that point. Why get cute with your star player who is so vital to this offense. He keeps Rivers attempts low which makes him more efficient. Not only was it a very risky trick play to run with your injured star but he should have been out of the game by then.
Im pissed at Lynn. He is a very green coach.
