So with the Chiefs releasing Hunt does that hurt them?

The only thing that separates him from that group are the team accomplishments.

He's most certainly a better QB than Eli. Two SB rings be damned. Those aren't things that are won by one person.

That's not to say Eli wasn't integral but he didn't do it on his own, and Rivers didn't fail to do it on his own.

And Ware hasn't been as durable.

Agreed. But isn't it the team accomplishments that are valued most when considering HOF eligibility and a QB's legacy? Just putting up big individual stats and never leading their team over the hump to a Super Bowl generally leaves a QB on the outside looking in like Dan Marino.

Name me some HOF QBs that have been snubbed for not winning a ring.

what??? YOU were the one that said Qbs were left on the outside looking in with great personal stats and no rings....and erroneously mentioned Marino as an example; and look foolish in doing so. I disagree with your premise hence why i said provide some examples.

Here is a hint....there really are not too many...maybe Ken Anderson. The list of HOF QBs with great stats and no rings is a Helluva lot longer than the list of snubs.

I've made the Marino/Rivers comparison many times based on their career stats- when people put Rivers into the upper echelon with the very best contemporary like PManning, Brady, Brees. And I also said Rivers needs to get a Super Bowl to be a lock for HoF consideration. Guess you didn't Google far enough to know Marino DID go to the Super Bowl...

                      Dan Marino

Marino played in one Super Bowl (XIX) and the Dolphins lost to the 49ers in 1985. No quarterback has completed more passes in a career than Marino, who retired following the 1999 season with 4,967 completions.
He led the league six times in completions. Marino ranks second in yards gained (61,361) and third in touchdown passes (420). It didn't do him any good as far as winning a Super Bowl.

***edit. Add Sonny Jurgenson to the list.

                        Definately is not ground breaking.
