I like our odds agsinst the Ravens. Yes their D will frustrate us early but i think we find the gaps and will make enough chunk plays to make the difference to score. I think our D will handle Lamar fine...he is 1/2 the pure qb as mohomes and we held the top offense to under 300, he may scramble but i think this D adjusts pretty well and will keep him in check.

I agree. I though Mahomes would run a lot more because he is both fast and athletic. But he has impressively hung in the pocket and really only used his movement skills to buy time to pass downfield. He is a more gifted athlete version of John Elway and Elway played a long time. I think Mahomes is only going to get better, too, unfortunately. Great job scouting and drafting him and developing and designing an offense that fits him so well. And he will be on his rookie contract a couple more years so the Chiefs have a window to add pieces to the defense before he, Hill and some others demand huge money.

Mohomes looks great now but longevity is fickle. I thought RG3 was going to be fantastic too then an injury took him off course and he was never the same.

Mobile qbs i think have sporadic success. A lot still depends on the team around him. Dont protect well and he can be very human too. Get a leg injury and a lot can change.

that said he is off the charts as a 2nd year young player.

Big difference between a QB who can run and a RB who can pass. Jackson looks like a RB who can pass. Sooner or later teams like NO (Bountygate) or CLE (Gregg Williams) will just tell their defenders to target his knee whenever he runs. It's a cruel, competitive sport and cruel, competitive business. Williams and NO in their SB run (*), you can see a lot of times their defenders just diving into the runner's knee, or the QB' knee. They made Jeff Fisher looks like a monk.

Jackson looks like a WR that can pass. I recall some talk about converting him...

yep, pre-draft. There was even rumors/projections the Chargers were looking to take him late 1st round and convert to WR. As I recall, Jackson squashed all the talk saying he was a QB only and not interested in playing WR anywhere.

Shoulders are vulnerable to big hits too. One thing we love about Rivers is he plays through the injuries. I highly suspect hes played through broken ribs at times.

What Lamarr Jackson is doing is not sustainable he needs to be able to make plays in the pocket, lot of fast mobile QB's will have a few good season if lucky, but not one of them has lead a team to a Super Bowl Victory, These guys will have a few games that will blow your mind, but overall you'll see there flaws

Micheal Vick never went to the Super Bowl carreer completion percentage 56%
RGIII as mention one good season and never the same
Vince Young never developed as pocket passer
Marcus Marito he has yet to prove he can make plays consitent from the pocket
