Hardwick not retiring

His recent comments reflected what most of his post year interviews demonstrated. The guy was always just so enthusiastic in interviews and excited about playing that I never felt he was considering retirement. He may not even be ready to retire after his current deal which may leave the door open to extend him a year and drop his cap number this year.

Then there was the thing that Hardwick has thought seriously about retiring the last few years,

He denied that and said he was never leaning in that direction. He takes a little time off after the season, then begins his process, but it's an informal though process is all. He said his lack of comment fueled the retirement talk and he only talked about it because of the chatter.

He said he loves football more than he ever has. He's excited about this "ascention" the Chargers are on and wants to be a part of it. I don't see him going anywhere for a couple years unless he hits the wall physically. Mentally it seems like he has plenty of juice left.
