And Lamp has been, and still is, listed as a guard on the Bolt roster. So, we need a RT in FA and/or draft. I'd like to double up and get two.

would not be surprised to see Lamp win the RT job and for us to draft an OC/OG type, day two.

      Erik McCoy >> Elgton/Bradbury

ps. didn't Telesco & Co. call/insist upon DJF as a tackle for the longest time ??
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

To the subject of the Tackle position.

My 1rst Round Pick is Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State Ht: 6-5. Wt: 306

If Dillard is gone in the first, then here are some of my alternative picks in later rounds.

        Round 3-

OT Kaleb McGary, Washington Ht: 6-6. Wt: 325. -40 time 5.20 - Winner of the 2018 Morris Trophy as the top offensive lineman (as voted by opposing team players) in the Pac-12 ... has started at right tackle in all games so far this season ... named the UW coaches' lineman player of the week for the ASU game ... won the John P. Angel Lineman of the Year Award at the UW postseason awards banquet.

OT Tytus Howard, Alabama State Ht: 6-5. Wt: 322. 40 Time: 5.05 - Howard played quarterback in high school and got to Alabama State ready to play tight end. It didn't take long for him to make the switch to offensive line, and he locked down his position ever since. SWAC coaches named him the Hornets' only first-team all-conference selection in 2018 after he started 10 games at right tackle. * I like the fact that he has experience at TE which could make for some key plays in the Redzone.

OT Trey Pipkins, OT, Sioux Falls Ht: 6-7. Wt: 307. Projected 40 Time: 5.19. : Pipkins was in the running with Syracuse defensive tackle Chris Slayton as the best player at this year's East-West Shrine. The 6-foot-7, 307-pound Pipkins has good length and a nice build to him. He showed nice feet in the position drills, and also used his size, length, and strength to tie up edge rushers in the pass-rushing one-on-ones.

          McGary is a solid prospect.

Howard & Pipkins are at minimum 2 year projects before they could see the field. Late round developmental prospects that are no way guaranteed to make your 53.

concur that McGary, along w/Cajuste, Dillard and Erik McCoy are all legit Chargers prospects/targets.

a question for me is, will the abovementioned Olinemen who are more pass blockers than run blockers, have a home within AL's run friendly O ??

McGary is most definitely a run blocking tackle, who needs work on his feet in pass pro...natural born mauler
The TPB makes plans....And Jim Harbaugh laughs...

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

Probably have to get him in the second if we want him...

Cole Toner and the Q need to be upgraded, and w/the quickness.... we would be wise to go both OT and the OC this draft, as they will be "mandatory" come next offseason otherwise.

would be nice to draft two OTs so that one of 'em could play LG ('til Russell gives way), and.... we can put Feeney (back) where he belongs @RG.
I wasn't a big fan of the pick; however, i remember one analyst bagging on Quessenbery's UCLA offensive line coach. UCLA had something like 4 offensive coordinators during Quesenberry time there.

People here are saying that he has really improved on his technique while here: good! Chargers need Q to start some games so that Pouncey does not wear down this season.

The panic button must be pushed for the tackle position. How many T we have at the moment? 3 (Okung, Tevi and Scott)
How many T we have on the Reserve/future list? None
                    On the Reserve/Injured list? None
I don't know about T. Scott but R. Okung is aging and S. Tevi is, at the best, a 3rd or a 4th T on a normal roster.
On FA or/and in the 2 first rounds of the draft, it's an emergency!!!!!
The recent problems against KC is the Charger interior: Chris Jones abuses them routinely.
The problem against New England was not being able to pick up the interior blitzers.

You can always chip on the edge rushers - Tevi will improve.

Same thing happened in the first Ravens game with interior blitzing.

Get strong in the middle on both sides of the ball.

The Patriots have a long history of selecting lineman like Allegretti in the late rounds and turning them into long-time starters.

Nick's tape is fundamentally solid yet unspectacular results in unit execution. Was it communication, scheme, or talent around him?
