New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison will be suspended by the NFL for four games because he admitted to investigators that he obtained HGH, sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

"I want to make it clear," Harrison said, "that never once did I take steroids. I did admit to the commissioner that I took a banned substance."

He is correct in saying a rookie 2nd round draft pick is not equal to a certain hall of fame linebacker.

        Jesus, who is.

I'm not sure there was a MLB who ever played, who combined size, speed, skills, and passion as well as Jr. Seau.

Agree on Rodney... he didn't play well his last year here. He did get in shape and play great in his last few seasons. And how often do we see guys who start the "downturn" only to turn it around late in their careers? That ain't natural.

As for Trotter, he's been pretty much anti-charger ever since he left the UT.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

thanks for grabbing that for me, i wasn't sure how long hgh had been illegal in the league, didn't know it was that long ago. don't get me wrong i was not preparing to defend him doing it, was just wondering. he was my favorite player as a charger and i was disappointed with his last year here and then the way they ditched him. i didn't enjoy at all his success in new england, and to have him be remembered for being a patriot and not a charger.

Rodney has a torn groin or something similar his last year here. He played through the pain and got dumped for it.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
            Let’s win one for Mack.

well ya, that was why i was upset. i saw him struggling to hang in there for us, and then for them to show no loyalty or support, trying to even see if he'd be able to come back. just made me mad.

He was my favorite player of his era as well, didn't like that he was let go. Not so much a fan of his anti-Chargers bias though.

I interpret that as HGH. They're technically not steroids. I think he would admit what it was if it wasn't damning.

Does it even matter what Rodney took? It's banned, so it got on that list for a reason. Steroids or not, it is performance enhancing.

As far as Teo goes, Trotter is right, he doesn't use his arms well. But he is in the same boat as a ton of rookie (and some vet LB), so I don't see how that is that big a deal. Teo lacks stopwatch speed in the 40, but like TT said on draft day, it's not like they ever thought he was going to run a great 40. The guy is really quick in a short area, and that is far more important.

Will he get exposed in coverage? Maybe, but we can handle that with scheme, help around him, and the fact that Teo is a pretty smart player. The guys who get burned in pass coverage are usually the guys who don't play with a cushion, and use horrible technique. If he recognizes his limitation, doesn't let TE and RB close on him, and studies offenses, he should be able to compensate. It's not like all NFL LB run faster 40 times, many of them don't, and they find ways of compensating. Our own JJ ran something like a 5.0 40 time coming out (as a DL), and he does just fine in coverage.

And for the record, Seau was a WILB, Teo is playing SILB. They both line up inside, but there is a lot of difference in making plays at the two spots. Seau played a lot more read and react, Teo is going to play more downhill and attack the line.

Teo is much further along then Seau was at this point. Seau was late to camp, and was a pass rushing 34 OLB, which is a world away from Teo, who has played a similar position at ND, and did it as well as any college football player has in a long, long time. Great performance in college doesn't assure him of success, but it doesn't hurt either.

Donnie Edwards is a better comparison as far as ILB to ILB. If Teo is close to that mold we will be happy.

I'm pretty sure (maybe just assumptions) that it was HGH.

EDIT: Maybe not, they weren't testing for HGH unitl now? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl...ulation-study/

Donnie was a pass rushing OLB in college too.
