I stopped taking this seriously after I saw the word, "physicality." That's a word that sports reporters and athletes use when they have no idea how to express themselves.
Until today, I hadn't read Jim Trotter since he left the Union Tribune. The dude had no talent, and, now that he doesn't usually write about the Chargers, I don't have a reason to read his work. (That being said - at least Trotter was more honest than the U-T writers who followed him.)

He reported on them for so long though. I think that is just a side effect.

And what does balance ever have to do with anything in mostly editorial sports writing?

Shit I hold a grudge for Rodney.

I do too Rodney never should have left, but it is not my job to be objective.

I hold a grudge toward Rodney. He decided to get himself in shape when he went to NE.

Let's compare Te'o to one of the best LBs of all time, that's fair.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                Let’s win one for Mack.

It seems to me that a lot of top talent comes into the NFL with weaknesses in their games. Many succeed on mostly natural talent, but not forever. At the end of the day, players that stick around improve technique and learn new skills. Te'o, at this point, is just as capable of doing that as any other rookie.

I agree with Trotter that comparisons with Seau are lazy. I understand where they come from, but we're a long way from such a comparison being worthy of 55.
I'd agree, particularly with middle linebackers. There's a long list where great college MLB's didn't quite fit the prototype to go in the 1st, went early/mid 2nd round, and turned out very good. I think T'eo will end up following that pattern.

Rodney Harrison, at the end of his Chargers' career was chronically injured. There was no way for the Chargers to know Harrison would take up illegal performance-enhancing drugs and kick the injury bug. Getting rid of him was a good idea at the time. Not finding a replacement ever was a mistake.

Yup. Harrison got himself in "shape" by taking HGH. And got a nice gig on National TV to boot. Talk about the wages of sin.

is this an accusation or known?

and was it banned at the time?
