Not by the time we signef him. He was a tacklin-machine and good in pass coverage.

Teo - would be much better with his hands if he had a real girlfriendSeriously, he is a smart guy with outstanding instincts and he can learn some of the hand technique stuff. He makes big plays. Everyone seems to forget, Teo knew the catfish story was coming out before the Alabama game and he was distracted and the same thing leading up to the combine when he almost didn't attend. If he gets focused and sheltered, he will be very solid, maybe (with a lot of luck) in the running for DROY.
Harrison - even AJ Smith said he regreted letting Harrison go, because he had a few years left in him. He played injured his entire last year with us and once he healed up or PID'ed up he had a couple good years with the Pats and the hole he left at SS has still not yet been replaced, let alone the leadership.

The short arms thing gets to me. They do measure guys for arm length, so in some ways it is objective. I just don't think it is as important as many make it out to be.
The problem I have with looking at it, is there are so many players who play with their arms bent or don't use their arms at all. There are a lot of shorter guys with short stubby arms who play inside (LB and DL). And if our DL does their jobs, Teo shouldn't even be taking on OL blocks anyway.
As long as Teo starts to use his arms to shed blocks (something he doesn't do well or do that often), I don't think that they are perceived as short means anything.
I think Big Dog has it right on his performance vs Alabama, although I think there was more to it. I do think the whole ND D was in over their heads. Teo was trying make plays for everyone and he kept trying to do too much. He admitted as much after the game. But with Butler and the rest of our D, he doesn't need to worry about that. He just needs to go back, focus on his assignment and preparation, and he will make the plays. He doesn't need to force them. When you try to force things to happen, you screw up.
