He was a good guy when he was young, way back in the 70's. I remember him working out with the players. Daddy was always the asshole in the family.

I'll never understand how wealthy people like NFL players and owners now that don't want to get chauffeured around town in a limo or at least a cab if you are planning to party outside the house. It really must be a level of addiction that completely warps all logical thinking. Or they are simply just total idiots. Or both.

Something happened to the 49ers' owner too after he got busted for bribing politicians. Again, I don't remember what the penalty was. I saw him hanging out with the NFC Championship trophy a couple seasons ago so I know he didn't lose the team permanently. Maybe he had to bribe Goodell to make sure he didn't get kicked out.
I guess I could just Google all this stuff.
DeBartolo was a family squabble, and he parted ways with his sister, giving her the team and he took the rest of the businesses as a settlement.sigpic

My disagreement with the DSM definition of substance abuse is that the "harm" is often harm to others. It would be nice to diagnose this beforehand, but hey life is shitty sometimes.

The flaw I see in that is that with all the social media, and just plain observations of the players during the season, I think the teams know the guys who party and the ones that don't. And if you think they will use alcohol use in making contract decisions, they sure as hell will use any legal problems, which are the eventual alternative to not using the service.
