75 million? Is that accurate? I mean are they right about that?

Some storm risks remain, including the possibility of large hail, damaging winds and flash flooding in portions of the South and East Coast.

And I appreciate your info on this stuff, Steve. It can be overwhelming though. 75 million?

What gets me about the article is that the author thinks 75 million is a third of the country when in fact it's just under a quarter (or 23.6%).

Edit: Yes, if you hadn't noticed by now, I can be very pedantic.

It's 75 Million under the watch (or warning, I didn't read the article). Most of them won't be very close to anything very serious. But the potential is there.

Just hit a couple major cities, or an entire state, you can get there pretty quick. But it is not that unusual. I am not sure why they are making a big deal about this now. Those sorts of numbers are common for any big weather outbreak in the Eastern 3rd of the US.

I feel for those lost the mid west, but it ain't over yet. We expect the worst to reach us this afternoon. Schools are closing early as are most businesses.

At 5 am got the iphone warning about tornados potentially in our area. Luckily it went east of us so we were good. After looking on radar the gulf looks just engulfed in a huge storm . May see that one soon based on the way it lookks yo be headed our general direction.

I guess my basement may just come in handy.

That came through my area yesterday evening and into the night. Mostly just some good thunderstorms, nothing too serious this far north. Still, keep an eye on it. You know how these things can re-charge in unstable air.
