Draft's Rated Using Trade Value's - We Did Ok - Best And Worst

Just a quick objective look to measure who did well in the draft. Very limited as doesn't consider trades. Just math using trade value numbers. Hope is of some interest.

I used the draft trade values to measure the value in each pick ( where the player actually went vs where he was ranked) . For ex : Kyler Murray was chosen #1 . The #1 pick value is 3,000, but he was ranked #7 - value of 1,500 in CBS's rankings , so the value was -1,500 (1,500- 3,000) for that pick. I did this for all picks and then summed them up for each team.

We did ok. Jerry Tillery was a little of a reach , but S Nasir Adderley fell to us in rnd 2.

WAS, JAX and BUF did the best. no surprise w all the OAK reaches they were last.

    NFL team Total
    Washington Redskins 1,568
    Jacksonville Jaguars 1,468
    Buffalo Bills 1,212
    Denver Broncos 569
    New York Jets 553
    Cleveland Browns 345
    Tennessee Titans 236
    Los Angeles Rams 216
    Chicago Bears 207
    San Francisco 49ers 66
    New Orleans Saints 49
    New England Patriots 25
    Los Angeles Chargers 23
    Carolina Panthers 18
    Philadelphia Eagles 10
    Baltimore Ravens (6)
    Pittsburgh Steelers (7)
    Dallas Cowboys (95)
    Kansas City Chiefs (104)
    Minnesota Vikings (239)
    Miami Dolphins (241)
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers (360)
    Cincinnati Bengals (408)
    Seattle Seahawks (468)
    Detroit Lions (503)
    Green Bay Packers (527)
    Indianapolis Colts (572)
    Atlanta Falcons (590)
    Arizona Cardinals (755)

Its all about drafting for value. Something TT doesn't agree with.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Not too hard to do in Ms Excel. Here are all of our picks btw. 'Proj' is the projected value, 'actual' - actual value. Value is net value gained

Who sets these values? How do we know they are not insane?

Tillery could end up a steal after a year or two or could end up a wasted pick. These so called values don't mean a thing until about three years from now, that would be the time to check the true values.

? These are the draft trade values that all the teams use to trade up and down in the draft so no they are not insane. It is a published chart they have used forever.

If you mean the CBS rankings, they seem pretty accurate for the 1st rnd and maybe rnd 2. After that it may be suspect.
